WHERE THE GOES X MARKS THE SPOT
THE IP ASSET DECODERFREE · 12 QUESTIONS · 7 MINUTES

What have you built without realizing it?

Every question below is a small excavation tool. Together they read four layers of your work: the method you run on instinct, how well it travels without you, the stories that carry it, and what the market would pay.

Answer honestly. The Decoder measures maturity, and there are no wrong depths.

When you finish, you get a reading on this page. Your field kit lands in your inbox a few minutes later, and it’s built to be worked rather than read.

THE READINGFOUR LAYERS · TWELVE ANSWERS

Here’s what the ground says.

Four layers, read from your twelve answers. The deepest ground is marked.

METHOD

Your method lives in your hands. It works every time you’re in the room, and it has never once been written down.

You have real structure: steps, phases, a shape you trust. It still needs you standing next to it.

You’re carrying a mature methodology. This is the kind of ground that supports property.

FRAMEWORK

What you know moves by apprenticeship. People learn it by watching you.

Parts of it are documented, and other people get results with guidance. The bones of a framework are showing.

Your work travels without you. That is the strongest signal there’s a licensable asset in the ground.

STORY

You have good stories. They work when you tell them, and they’re doing less than they could.

Your stories have jobs: landing ideas, moving people toward yes. That’s architecture starting to surface.

You own a story system. Narratives that hold a category are among the rarest assets I find.

MARKET

There’s demand, and it’s paying you fairly. The open question is what it would pay for the named version.

Buyers seek you out and pay a premium. The market is already telling you something is different here.

You’re solving expensive problems for serious buyers. Whatever we find in the ground, this is where it gets its value.

The field kit is an instrument.

It carries the questions I ask when I go through somebody’s body of work, laid out one layer at a time, with ruled space to write down whatever surfaces. Your deepest layer is marked, so you know where to put the shovel first.
